Metzeler Racetec RR (my almost test)

Metzeler Racetec RR is the new super sports tire presented by trademark elephant. Sono stato invitato al lancio e… ve lo racconto.

Metzeler I was invited to the presentation of the new international Racetec RR. And it is already WOW. Waiting for, there were the circuit of Almeria e tante belle BMW S1000RR edition 2015 equipped with the three compounds of the new tire for super sports brand Italian-German. And here the WOW abound.

Unfortunately, however,, things did not go exactly as planned. Back to our Racetec RR. I promised you that I would have presented properly, so here I am.

The new tire dedicated geeks discerning, is available in three compounds: Soft this K1, intermedia this K2 e Hard K3. In all three cases, to lead the team of research and development of Metzeler there have been the desire to provide a product able to offer grip in all road conditions, precision driving, stability and consistent performance even on long journeys.

The development of the new Racetec RR could benefit from the experience of direct Metzeler in Road Races, in which only 2014 obtained 39 podiums and 16 victories on circuits difficult parts such as the North West 200, Metzeler the Ulster GP, Southern 100 and the legendary Isle of Man TT. Going into technical, si tratta di uno pneumatico bimescola con struttura “Cap and Base” ovvero la mescola centrale – fatta per resistere più a lungo e scaldarsi meno – supporta quella laterale – al contrario fatta per dare aderenza – posizionandosi nel sottostrato del battistrada. With this solution also mixes side should better maintain the operating temperature even after a long straight. Obviously, the mixing process of the compounds exists the highest privacy, but we ensure that provide high abrasion resistance thanks to the homogeneous dispersion of the components and that the compounds are more versatile than in the past.

In summary we

K1 which is the SOFT, therefore particularly suited for the hot asphalt

K2 is the INTERMEDIATE, the compromise

K3 HARD is so dedicated to using non-competitive and any temperature, in any graded asphalt with a mileage top.

The innovative material used in the carcass structure it elevates the lateral stiffness while minimizing the fluctuations that trigger on the straights and, at last, and left hat profiles have been designed to absorb the roughness and at the same time dampen, without generating oscillations, deformations of the impact.
