Saroléa Manx 7: comes the road version

Ever since the 2014 I saw the first version of the Saroléa Manx 7, built to address the TT Zero al Tourist Trophy, I thought it was pretty cool. Two main reasons have led me to think. The first is the taste and stylistic attention aimed at reinterpreting the classic lines connotandole sharply as something futuristic. Per anni in passato da studente del Politecnico mi sono interessato al fenomeno allora nascente del “retro-futurism” design e quello che Serge Rusak e il suo studio sono riusciti a fare con questa moto è a parer mio fantastico. Beautiful and elegant, evocative and futuristic. Inoltra sono riusciti a ben celare anche quegli elementi “di disturbo” tipici di una moto elettrica, as unsightly batteries. Everything looks nice and sought.

The second reason is the resumption of a brand of the past, or if we are pioneering era of motorcycling to achieve a product of the future. The Saroléa Manx 7 It bears a name that is history but is not bulky, because his heritage now so far to keep alive an age only sinks in an aura of legend. No one can make a direct comparison with the recent past models and from the point of view of marketing I think is flawless operation.

But let the facts of this new Saroléa Manx 7 road version, which it is a real gem not only from a purely aesthetic point of view.

As we learn from Site page, the frame is a monocoque carbon fiber, valuable material with which is also realized the swingarm and obviously also the cowling and which allows to contain the weight 217 kg (not bad for a washing machine!). The motor is a brushless three-phase coupled directly to a final drive chain. There is not need to change to handle the beauty of 163 CV (120 kW) and above all the rich couple 450 Nm (!!!) that pushes the Manx 7 in the 240 km/h declared. The battery is obviously a Lithium-ion 14 kWh to last approximately 230 km (che per esperienza direi verosimile solo a patto di non ruotare mai la manetta oltre un 30%…). The charging takes place with a quick charge and promises to have 80% 20 minutes (Also on this point I am a little bit skeptical and I would try). But you can ask optionally two oversized versions of battery 18 kWh the the 22 kWh for autonomy of about respectively 280 km the 330 km.

All the components are then maximum level: fork and Ohlins monoshock, OZ forged aluminum wheels, Beringer Aerotec the front brakes with radially mounted. The production batch expected from the tiny atelier is Saroléa 20 examples for 2018 and you can book your own through the website www.sarolea.com/reservation with a down payment of 5.000 Euro. The list of Saroléa Manx 7 It is obviously important ones though not so freaked out for a virtually handmade motorcycle: it starts from 42.975 euro version 14 kWh, It is passed to the 46.280 the euro 18 kWh to end the 48.760 the euro 22 kWh.
