Harley-Davidson LiveWire will be ordered from February. This is learned from the press release of the US House and new section of the site dedicated to electric bikes of the historic brand. In the plural, yes it is, because at CES in Las Vegas they have also been revealed the concept that wink to the world of mountain biking and bikes to use… recreational say. We say openly inspired by some of the trends already underway in the world of cycling reading. Ma bando alle ciance.
Harley-Davidson LiveWire: what is the autonomy?
All the curiosity for the given range of, the real crux of the matter when we talk about electrons. The press and the Harley-Davidson site tentatively reported a mileage of 170 km Livewire for emphasizing in several places its nature and urban street. For me this is the first disappointment: I expressed the hope in a higher range to 200 km, a distance that other bikes already on the market easily exceed. However it is a good distance considering the possibility of charging offers:
- Level 1 (standard household outlet): autonomy 20 kilometers per hour of charging.
- Level 2: LiveWire can be attached to a drive level of charging 2 but it will be loaded to the speed level option 1.
- Level 3 (Quick charging DC): autonomy 300 kilometers per hour of charging.
Unfortunately it is not yet revealed the capacity of the battery. At a guess I would say that we are around 14 kWh but it is my guess. I hoped that Harley-Davidson melt this node, but communication very little falls in the technical detail.

Instead the search is made to get confirmed a particular and recognizable sound. Well, It will be funny. It will not be – as we saw in the video eicma – a roar but a personalized whistle. For the rest there are all the features of electric propulsion, then ride comfort, cleaning, no vibration… In short, a very atypical Harley.
The management software, named H-D Connect, will be able to make us communicate with the bike revealing the status of all parameters on our smartphones such as already happens with Zero Motorcycles. Unlike these, however,, the system will be free the first year but then require a subscription. Ecco… this thing had better not read it.
As for the performance at the moment is declared acceleration 0-100 km/h in 3,5″ which it is definitely a value in line with other motorcycle high-end power. Then: burning starts at traffic lights insured.

And I… how much?
The second biggest curiosity is obviously the price. Needless to beat around the bush, at the end of the dreams they always measure with hard cash and you know that Harley-Davidson is a premium brand. Consequently, it can not hope that this toy so little technological costs. The price was set at 34.200 Euro. Not a stellar price, but quite pricey especially given the data at present known.
