After making his debut last July in Vallelunga in the first round of the edition 2020 the Moto Guzzi Fast Endurance Trophy (by the way, you saw the real video?), in fact, I am going to run the entire trophy this year!!! In altre parole, I am a budding pilot.
Yes that's fine, it took me a while’ to reach these levels I admit, but I still have years and years of curbs ahead of me!
An irresistible formula
The fact is that after a first taste it becomes difficult to resist this formula that mixes a new bike, reliable and affordable performance col fascination of endurance races of the epoch for more in context of the FM Vintage MeetingsI. In short, it makes you want to play for more time than for a single race.
Me and Marco, my team mate although I should say my team manager as he basically organizes everything, we told each other immediately as soon as we arrived in Vallelunga last July: we have to do the whole season.
So here we are in this episode of LIVEetto to baptize ours new mission with the colors of In Moto With Africa. And we do it with two exceptional godparents! In connection there are Gianfranco “Guaro” Guareschi, creator together with his brother Vittoriano of the kit that makes the V7 racing bikes e Massimo Fiorentino responsible for the Vintage area of the Italian Motorcycle Federation and creator and promoter of this trophy.
This year we do things well done. We bought a new motorcycle, a V7III Special found ready for delivery, and we entrusted it to the care of the Guareschi brothers who assembled the special kit. No modifications to the engine are allowed, the Mandello twin cylinder must remain in stock. Even if already with the drain provided by Zard the delivery changes and finds a greater brilliance. But we will discover all these details over the course of the season.
In fact, I undertake to tell everything we will combine, from tests to races and I will answer all your curiosities.
A good cause
But Marco and I do not participate only for our glorious dreams of children. To push us is another much higher motivation and it is called Right to health for all.
The motorcycle is not only a fantastic means of transport or as in this case a great source of fun, it is also a formidable instrument of salvation. Thanks to their agility, due to their simplicity and affordability, they are the only way to get treatment for a pregnant or sick woman in many remote places on the African continent.
For this reason, the In Moto With Africa project was born, which raises funds to be allocated entirely, thanks to Doctors with Africa CUAMM, to the development of the transports that take place, precisely, mainly by motorbike.
In the first year of activity, On a motorcycle With Africa thanks to the generosity of over 90 supporters, ha collected well 25.000 Euro! With which four motorcycles were purchased (2 we had already delivered them in Sierra Leone, remember?), più di 400 full of petrol e 1.500 motorcycle rides mostly for young mothers.
This year we would like to do more. For this we have also founded a Moto Club affiliated with the IMF to which any motorcyclist can sign up and thus make their contribution to the cause. And if you don't go in motion, don't worry, you can become a supporter or make an occasional donation. Our adventure at the Moto Guzzi Fast Endurance will be an opportunity to tell everyone what In Moto Con l'Africa is doing and launch a specific campaign also on the Rete Del Dono platform.
Each small contribution will be donated to the In Moto With Africa project and therefore made entirely available to Doctors With Africa CUAMM. At the end of the year we will tell you how this money was actually used.
