For a long time I wanted to bring the wheels on Romantic street, in Bavaria. A tickle my fancy was the fame of this romantic street that runs through the gentle ups and downs of the German countryside dotted with magnificent castles and magnificent sites. The idea of a romantic road was a shrewd idea of territorial marketing which over the years has attracted many tourists in Bavaria and became an example for many other regions in search of valorization.
In particular are the castles built by King Maximilian and King Ludwig II near Fussen to be the destination of a pilgrimage that involves onlookers from around the world and all types. As I arranged the trip?
I left Milan on Friday after lunch and returned Sunday evening. Saturday morning I dedicated to Fussen and castles. In the afternoon I brought to Augsburg I visited on Saturday night and especially Sunday morning. After lunch I returned home.
A real hit and run made possible by having in his hands a fast and convenient Yamaha FJR 1300 AS, a sport touring that allows you to ride all day comfort. With another bike I would have done differently, with longer times.
Il mio consiglio è, se possibile, to take some’ most of the time anyway to explore the area more, especially if you plan on doing guided tours to the castles that can occupy a lot’ time view of the high turnout. A day or two more to help see the rest of the Romantic Road that does not stop at Augsburg, but continues until Wurzburg!

Where stay?
With such a flow of tourists is no shortage of alternatives for housing. A Fussen I stopped at the renowned Luitpoldpark Hotel It equipped with every comfort and indoor parking for motorcycles. Ad Augsburg, instead, I booked a comfortable room Ubernacht Hostel that, however,, It has no possibility to park the bike. A few steps away it is still a public parking garage.
