When to ride a motorcycle in the Argentina Valley?

If the Ligurian coast can offer an always mild climate, going up inland, things could change, therefore my favorite time for this itinerary is late spring or September.

Distance and road

Sono “soltanto” 70 km, but in which to have fun thanks to the well-asphalted curves of the Argentina Valley. The road then becomes gradually narrower and it is not excluded to find patches, holes or work in progress, so always gas responsibly! As for the difficulties, I would say that it is very simple and within the reach of any displacement e… supply. Con la moto elettrica it is even more fun especially in the wooded area near Triora.

What to see in Argentina Valley?

The Castle Taggia, the village of Badalucco and the nearby Boeri palace, the Fortress of Andagna, the Castle of Triora but above all the village of the witches of Triora.

L’ itinerary in brief

Enraptured by the charm of the Ligurian sea, we sometimes forget to look towards the mountains, so we miss shows like the Argentina Valley, or the valley of the Argentino river, a simple and at the same time enchanting and perfect itinerary to let the wheels of our bike roll regardless of the engine capacity.

It starts from the coast, ad Weapon of Taggia, and after a feast of olives, follow the road that retraces the course of the river, not before, however,, to have seen the town of Taggia and the castle, I recommend. The SP48 sinuously follows the river taking us to Badalucco and then to Molini di Triora with an indigestion of curves.

Before the town we can take a short detour to the nearby Rocca di Andagna. We then continue to Triora, considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy e famous for the witchcraft trials which were held here in the 16th century. There is a lot to see here, maybe I recommend doing it during the "Strigora”Summer event dedicated to those sinister events that is held after August 15th.

At this point we have more possibilities. This time I recommend the softer one, thinking of those who perhaps have a smaller bike or those who simply want to do motorcycle touring without complications. Continue on the beautiful road to Pigna and reach the country of Dolceacqua, here too there is a lot to see. From here, the itinerary can easily bring you back to the coast.

The alternative for those who want some more emotions, instead, is to take the famous Via del Sale which from Triora can lead us to Piedmont lemon. But this… it's a whole other story and definitely deserves a separate discussion.

Qui sotto, a video shot in those areas:

  1. Why adventurers? Adventurous I would say it is much better.

Adventurous are those who go on an adventure with no other end than adventure, for the pure taste of experience.

An adventurer is historically someone who goes on an adventure also to make a profit and stops at nothing. Typically the Spanish conquistadors were adventurers, and not just them.

    Beautiful places.

    1. Because adventurous is an adjective and not a noun. The correct sentence would be “the alternative for adventurous bikers is…”. Hello
