Giuseppe for Triumph Sicily built a special Bonnie for his friend Vittorio, inspired to the joy of life. They called it “Pura Vida”, as Costa Rican say
Giuseppe Samperi of Triumph Sicily in Catania is really confident with the specials Triumph Bonneville . This guy from Catania is an old friend of this blog, and in this postI talk about his “SCAR” the Thunderbird that won the Triumph Italy contest last winter. This time, Giuseppe deals with the requests of another nice Sicilian guy, an enthusiast who has been looking for a carburator Bonnie for years in order to reshape it on himself: Vittorio.
So the Triumph Bonneville “Pura Vida” was born, a special one inspired to the joy of life and based on the famous Costa Rican motto that Vittorio acquire as his own.
I would not dwell on all the changes: enjoy the my video made up with the pictures of another friend of mine, Andrea Campo. Probably this Triumph Bonneville is not the kind of bike that makes you wow, however it is really a good example of what you might want from your customizer: simplicity and expertise. In the end, it is also an ode to the joy of life and light heartedness, so… good work guys. I damn like it!
Con le special su Triumph Bonneville, Giuseppe Samperi di Triumph Sicilia a Catania ha una certa confidenza. Il ragazzotto catanese è ormai una vecchia conoscenza di questo blog, qui abbiamo presentato anche la sua “SCAR” vincitrice del contest nazionale indetto proprio dalla Casa inglese. Giuseppe questa volta, però, aveva a che fare con un ragazzo particolare, un’entusiasta che per anni ha cercato una Bonnie a carburatori da poter modificare a propria immagine e somiglianza: Vittorio.
Dall’incontro delle pretese dell’uno e della manualità dell’altro è nata questa Triumph Bonneville “Pura Vida”, special ispirata alla gioia di vivere e al noto motto costaricense che Vittorio ha ormai fatto suo.
Non mi dilungo sulle modifiche che si lasciano notare da sole nel video che abbiamo realizzato con le foto di un terzo amico, Andrea Campo. Di certo le soluzioni più convincenti riguardano la rimodellazione della sella, con la cucitura di quello strano logo che sembra una freccia ma che in realtà rappresenta le iniziali di Vittorio, il sottosella costruito a mano e il gruppo ottico posteriore. Pedane e leve sono state verniciate di nero a fuoco e artigianale è anche lo scarico. Il manubrio è stato invece estirpato da una Harley, è un 25 mm, e il parafango rimodellato dallo stesso Giuseppe.
Questa Triumph Bonneville “Pura Vida” non è una di quelle special che ti fanno chiedere come diavolo avrà fatto, ma mette ben in mostra cosa si può ottenere con idee chiare e modifiche mirate quando si ha voglia di fare e capacità di lavorare. E poi è un inno alla vitalità e alla spensieratezza, quindi bravi ragazzi.
